Tune out the noise: “Sold for highest price ever”. “Sold for 105% of asking price”. “Sold in 1 day”. These are great claims…for the listing agent. However, they don’t advertise how much it will end up costing you, the seller. Keep in mind, big teams have more mouths to feed. Despite how great some Realtors think they are, they don’t have any control over the housing market. A house is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. When buyers are shopping for a home, they can care less who the listing agent is. I worked with buyers who personally disliked the listing agent but loved everything about the house and ended up purchasing it for 105% of the asking price the first day it hit the market. The listing agent had no influence on their decision.
